Cluster Beans / Kothavaranga Vathal
Try out this vathal, instead of the usual vathals we prepare with rice. This has a different taste .
For this vathal you need
1 kg. of cluster beans / Kothavaranga ( use small amount of it and try this vathal)
Wash the cluster beans well .In a pressure cooker, add the cluster bean with little salt and leave it for 2 whistles.
Drain the excess water and dry it under the sun.
Make sure they are dried completely and store it in air tight container.
Now you can fry this and take along with sambar / curd rice. The taste is divine.
Or else you can also add these vathal , in sambar and in kara kolumbu
For adding in sambar and kara kozhumbu
Boil this vathals in water, until they are cooked and simply add them.(as you add vegetables ) in sambar and kara kozhumbu.
