BITTER GOURD (PAVAKKAI ) CHIPS

Bitter gourd is considered to be a good medicine for diabetic patientst. Most of them avoid this because of its bitterness and here comes a solution for it. Soaking the bitter gourd in tamarind water for minimum half an hour, will definitely remove the bitterness from it. Hope you try and enjoy it  :)

For this recipe you need

2 nos. of Bitter Gourd
1 tsp. of chilli powder
1/2 tsp. of turmeric powder
2 tsp. of corn flour
2 tsp. of rice flour
A pinch of asafoetida
Salt
Tamarind water
Oil for frying
Preparation

Wash and chop the bitter gourds , soak them in tamarind water along with turmeric powder and keep it aside for about 30 - 45 mins.

Drain the tamarind water, add the corn flour, chilli powder, rice flour, asafoetida and salt. Mix them well.

Heat oil in a pan, and fry them in medium flame.

when they turn golden brown , drain them in kitchen towel to remove the excess oil from it.

Crispy bitter gourd chips is ready to be served...............

Serve it with sambar/rasam rice and enjoy.............. :)
