PLAIN PALAK RECIPE
PLAIN PALAK - This is a wonderful dish with fresh palak. This recipe is extremely easy to make and goes very well with roti's :).
Preparation time : 15 mins
Cooking time : 20 mins.
Serves : 4
For this recipe you need
1 bunch of fresh spinach, washed and chopped
2 medium sized onion, chopped roughly
1 big sized well ripened tomatoes, chopped
2 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp. of cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. of turmeric powder
2 tsp. of chilli powder
1 tsp. of coriander powder
1/2 tsp. of garam masala powder
2 tbsp. of yoghurt
Salt
Oil
Preparation
Grind the onions,tomtoes and garlic to a smooth paste and keep it aside. Now whizz the roughly chopped spinach in the blender and keep it aside.
Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed pan and fry the cumin seeds until they turn dark. Add the onion-tomato mixture ,cover and cook until the gravy becomes thick.
Tip in the spice powders and salt, and stir until well blended. Now add the spinach puree.
Reduce the heat and cook for about 10 mins. Switch off the flame, finally add yoghurt and mix well until well blended.
Plain palak is ready to be served.............
Serve this delicious plain palak hot with roti's or naan and enjoy :)
