PASTA KHEER | PASTA PAYASAM  -  Hello Friends, today I am sharing a quick and delicious dessert with leftover pasta. YES, you heard me right with leftover pasta and milk this unique dessert can be prepared in under 20 mins with less effort.

I had 2 cups of pasta left after preparing Masala Pasta for my kids.

If you need to prepare pasta then boil water, add the required amount of pasta to be cooked. When it turns soft drain the water using a colander and allow it to cool, this normally takes around 10 - 13 mins. Now pasta is cooked and ready for making kheer.

This kheer will definitely be an interesting variation from our regular kheer and so just make this once and you are sure to love it. It can be served warm or cold, but I prefer to taste cold. 
So let's get started.

First step: Pour 3 cups of milk into a heavy-bottomed pan and allow it to boil. 

Second step: Meanwhile heat ghee in a pan. when it turns warm add the cashews fry until it turns golden brown and keep it aside.

Third step: Once the milk has come to a boil, add the cooked pasta and stir it gently.

Fourth Step: Next add sugar along with cardamom powder and condensed milk, continue stirring it occasionally in low heat.
 
Fifth Step:   When the payasam comes to the desired consistency add the roasted cashews and remove from heat.

Sixth Step:  Finally pasta payasam or pasta kheer is ready to be served.

    Ingredients

  • 2 cups of boiled pasta 
  • 3 cups of whole or full-fat milk
  • 1/2 tsp. of cardamom powder
  • 10 nos. of cashew nuts
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 2 tbsp. of condensed milk
  • A tbsp. of ghee

     Method

  • Once the milk has come to a boil, add the cooked pasta and stir it gently.
  • Next, add sugar along with cardamom powder and condensed milk, continue stirring it occasionally in low heat. 
  • When the payasam comes to the desired consistency add the roasted cashews.  and remove from heat.
  • Serve it hot or cold and Enjoy!

    Notes
  • Adjust the sweet according to your taste buds.
  • To make the kheer even richer in taste, you can add fresh cream.
  • If the consistency of the kheer gets thickened after few hours, then adjust by adding hot ot cold boiled milk.
